Snow and rain come from water vapor in the air.
There are many different kinds of snow because of the different shapes that snowflakes come in.
Snow is white because the snow crystals reflect the full spectrum of light and we see it as white.
Freshly fallen snow is much lighter than water because there is alot of air between the flakes. Older snow is more compressed so it has less air between the flakes and contains more water.
