Community Safety Forum: Tonight at 7:00 at the Barrington High School is a community safety forum. The School Superintendent, the Police Chief, and the Town Manager will be speaking about what is happening in the Barrington community regarding the safety of our students and community in general.
Friday: There is no school this Friday, March 30, 2018.
BCI Checks: The policy of the Barrington Public Schools regarding background checks on volunteers has changed. Moving forward, all volunteers will have to have a background check every two years. In order to assist with this, our Volunteer Coordinator has set up times for parents to come to our school to have the background check completed. The dates of the Sowams drop in, along with the times at the other schools, is attached below. Questions can be directed to Anita DiMatteo at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Other Bits of Information:
Jump Rope for Heart: In February during physical education class, Mr. Miller had our students participate in the American Heart Association’s Jump Rope for Heart. As a school, we raised over $2000 from this event. Students who brought in certain amounts of money will receive prizes from the American Heart Association. These prizes were ordered during February vacation my Mr. Miller. He was told that the prizes will take four to six weeks to be delivered. As of right now, we have not received them but we do anticipate they will come in over the next couple weeks.
Lost and Found: We have quite the collection of items in our lost and found. There are winter coats, hats, gloves/mittens, water bottles, etc. Please take a look at the lost and found to claim items lost by your child. Unclaimed items will be donated.
Yearbook: There are two items attached below about our school’s yearbook. The first item is the ordering information. All orders are done online through the yearbook company (our picture company). Yearbooks need to be ordered by April 25, 2018. The second yearbook item is the information about placing a booster in the yearbook. This is an opportunity for parents, grandparents, siblings, etc. to write a note to one of our students or adults in our building. These are due by April 18, 2018. A hard copy of the booster information was sent home today with students.
Hot Lunch Menu: The April hot lunch menu is attached.
Last Day of School: Due to the cancelled days of school that has occurred thus far this school year, the last day of school for students is Thursday, June 21, 2018.
· Community Notices: The district has a site with all of the Barrington community information on it. This a great way to see what is happening in Town. You can access that site here.
