Education Week: Education Week is coming up and there are a couple things planned.
Parents are invited to visit their child’s classroom during certain times that week. Times are located on the flier below or can also be found here.
The Book Fair is also happening this week. Classes will visit the book fair at designated times. You can find out when your child is visiting by clicking here. Family Night is November 14 from 5:00-7:00. The Committee is in the process of creating a fun night with some activities and book purchasing. Also on Family Night, there will be a food truck to purchase dinner for your family and you. Volunteers are needed at various times throughout the week. If you have a background check on file with the district and have one or more hours to spare next week, please click here to sign up to volunteer. More information about the book fair and family night are attached below.
No School: Due to the celebration of Veterans Day, there is no school on Monday, November 12, 2018.
School Pictures: Coming home with your child today (or tomorrow) is your school picture if you ordered one for your child. If your child was absent or if you want your child’s picture retaken, the photo company will be back on Friday, November 16 beginning at 8:30 in the morning to take pictures. If your child is having a picture retake, you must send back all of the photos that were sent home. Everyone in each classroom has received a class picture. These do not have to be returned. If you think your child should have received a picture and did not or if you have other questions about your pictures, you should contact Coffee Pond at 1.800.632.2323 or email@example.com.
Town Meeting: Our next Town Meeting is scheduled for November 20 at 1:55. Mrs. Gaynor’s class is the Class of the Week.
Morning Art Enrichment: Ms. Viall is starting another session of art in the morning. It’s not too late to sign up. Attached below is the information about the morning activity.
Community Engagement Listening Forum: Tonight at 7:00 in the Barrington High School Library is a community forum hosted by the Barrington School Committee. The forum is an opportunity for you to hear about the Pillars of our Strategic Plan and examine our annual scorecard. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions, provide feedback, and engage with members of the Barrington School Committee and our administration team.
Other Bits of Information
Morning Drop Off: For the most part, morning drop off goes smoothly. However, I am noticing when grandparents/babysitters drop off in the morning, they are getting out of the car to assist the children. This causes the line to back up, sometimes onto to Sowams Rd. Please remind those people who drop off students in the morning to remain in their vehicles.
Helping Hands: We continue with our Tap In food collection until tomorrow, November 8. There is a box in the school’s foyer for all donations.
Community Events: Below is an attachment related to an event at Hampden Meadows School. Other community event information can be found here.
