Good afternoon,
This week’s Backpack Express is ready for you to enjoy reading.
On behalf of all of us at Sowams School, thank you very much for spoiling us last week during our celebration of Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week. Everything was greatly appreciated.
Also as you probably are aware from our Superintendent’s email last week, Sowams School has been designated as a “Lighthouse School” by Blue Ribbons Schools of Excellence. This award supports the teaching and learning occurring at our school and validates the hard work our educators put forth each day for our students. The evaluation for getting the award included parent, teacher, staff, and grade three student surveys and a visit from BRSE for almost two days to evaluate our school. The visit includes focus groups and classroom visits/observations. The evaluation looked at nine different standards that make a school successful. We are all very proud of the work we do at Sowams each day and know we cannot do this work without our hard-working students and caring parents. This award goes to everyone involved with Sowams School.
