Open House Recap: Thank you to the many parents who attended last week’s Open House. It was so nice to see everyone. I hope you found the time in the classroom helpful and you have a better understanding of what your child does each day.
Octoberfest: Octoberfest is coming up on October 14, 2023, from 10:00-3:00. Games, food, silent auction, class basket raffles, and so many other fun things to do with your family happen on this day. Below are some reminders:

No School: As a reminder, there is no school on Monday, October 9, 2023, in observance of Indigenous People’s Day.
Flu Shot Clinic: There are two upcoming flu shot clinics in Barrington: October 17 at Sowams and November 2 at Barrington High School. Both of these clinics are open to anyone who would like to get a flu shot. You do need to preregister to attend. Registration information may be found here or at schoolflu.com.
Vision Screenings: We are required by the state to do a yearly vision screen with all students. Our screening will take place on Friday, October 6 during the school day. If your child wears glasses, it is important that they have them with them on this day. If you have any questions, you may reach out to our school nurse-teacher, Mrs. Mungovan at mungovans@barringtonschools.org or by calling the school at 401-247-3180.
Building Committee Community Meetings: The Barrington School Building Committee is hosting a series of community meetings in preparation for Stage II of its Necessity of School Construction application. Each meeting will include a short presentation from Tecton Architects and a community discussion.Attending a community meeting is an opportunity for you to learn about the future of school construction projects in Barrington that address space and security deficits, Barrington's growing population, and the needs of twenty-first century learning. Community meetings will take place on:
Thursday, October 5 at Barrington Middle School (6:00-8:00 PM)
Saturday, October 21 at Barrington Middle School (9:00-11:00 AM)
Wednesday, October 25 at Barrington Middle School (6:00-8:00 PM)
