Good afternoon,

Here’s this week’s Backpack Express for you.

  • Octoberfest:  Octoberfest is Saturday from 10:00-3:00.  This is a fun, family event for our school and the Barrington community.  

    • Online Auction:  The Silent Auction is open and waiting for your bids.  You may access the Silent Auction here.  The auction will be available at Octoberfest until 3:00.

    • Volunteers:  It’s not too late to volunteer for Octoberfest.  Click here to sign up.

    • Baked Goods:  Various types of baked goods are needed to help Octoberfest be successful.  If you would like to donate, please click here.  

  • Octoberfest T-Shirt:  All students received an Octoberfest t-shirt.  We hope everyone will wear their t-shirts tomorrow to school.

  • Flu Shot Clinic:  There are two upcoming flu shot clinics in Barrington:  October 17 at Sowams and November 2 at Barrington High School.  Both of these clinics are open to anyone who would like to get a flu shot.  You do need to preregister to attend.  Registration information may be found here or at schoolflu.com.  

  • Building Committee Community Meetings:  The Barrington School Building Committee is hosting a series of community meetings in preparation for Stage II of its Necessity of School Construction application. Each meeting will include a short presentation from Tecton Architects and a community discussion.Attending a community meeting is an opportunity for you to learn about the future of school construction projects in Barrington that address space and security deficits, Barrington's growing population, and the needs of twenty-first century learning.  Community meetings will take place on:

    • Saturday, October 21 at Barrington Middle School (9:00-11:00 AM)

    • Wednesday, October 25 at Barrington Middle School (6:00-8:00 PM)

    • Information about the project may be found on the Official Building Project Website.

  • Community Notices:  There are a couple community notices for you:  Primrose Hill School’s Spooky Stroll and Barrington Youth Basketball Association.
