Save the Date: Sowams School is hosting a Family Math Night on December 5, 2023. Join us to learn how to play various math games with just a deck of cards or a pair of dice. More information, including a sign up, will follow.
Buy Nothing Coat Exchange: During the week of November 14, 2023, Sowams will be collecting gently used winter coats for adults and children to benefit the Buy Nothing Coat Day Exchange. This drive is to assist those who cannot afford winter coats during the cold months. There is a box in the school’s foyer. Donations will be accepted from November 14-17, 2023.
Yearbook: It takes many photos to create a memorable yearbook. We need your help with this. Photographers are needed to come in to school during the day to take candids of our students. If you would like to assist with this, please reach out to Jill Blankenhorn at jillkopicki@gmail.com. Also, the yearbook committee is looking for pictures from Octoberfest. If you took any photos at Octoberfest and you would like to share them for possible inclusion in the yearbook, please email them to sowamsyearbook2023@gmail.com.
Book Fair: Our fall Book Fair is coming up the week of November 13, 2023. Information about the Book Fair may be found here. You can find out how to set up the e-wallet for your child on the site. If you would like to volunteer at the Book Fair, you may sign up here. Students will visit the Book Fair on Tuesday or Wednesday of that week. The schedule for the visits may be found here. Family Night is November 16, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 in the evening.
Picture Retake Day: For those students who were absent on our picture day and for those who want their child’s picture retaken, it will happen on the morning of November 17, 2023. If you have not ordered pictures, you may go to the Coffee Pond website to do so. If you are having your child’s picture retaken, you do need to return the package you received.

November 22, 23, and 24, 2023: Thanksgiving Break
PTO Fun Friday: Due to a conflict with picture retake day, Fun Friday will be this Friday. It’s Wacky Hair Day! I’m looking forward to seeing the creations.
