Good afternoon,
This week’s Backpack Express is full of information for you reading pleasure:
Faculty/Staff Appreciation Week: The week of May 5, 2025, we will be celebrating Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week. The PTO has various ways scheduled to celebrate our wonderful faculty and staff. Your help is needed with this. Please see this information on what will be happening that week and how you are able to celebrate our caring faculty and staff.
Bike Riding to/from School: It’s so great to see so many students riding bikes to school each day. Please make sure students are careful while riding to and from school. It’s been noticed a couple of times lately of students riding their bikes in the parking lot at the end of the day, sometimes without any parent supervision. The lot is a very busy place. Please do not allow your child to ride their bike in the parking lot as this could be a dangerous situation.
Scooters, Roller Skates, and Bikes: As a reminder, students who are using any of these modes of transportation to/from school MUST wear a helmet. The law states anyone under 15 years of age needs to wear a helmet.
Lunch Balances: If your child owes money to Chartwells for lunch or milk, you should receive an email. So everyone is aware, if money is owed, students are not allowed to purchase milk but are allowed to purchase lunch. The reason for this is, milk is considered an a la carte item and their policy is you cannot purchase a la carte items when you have a negative balance. As always, if you need assistance with purchasing lunch, you can always complete the free/reduced lunch application. You may find it here.
Sweetheart Dance: Our sweetheart dance is only 2 weeks away and we are in need of volunteers to help us make it a success for our students and families! There are a variety of options both before and after the event including decoration set up, balloon arch creation (with a group), dessert/drinks coordination, registration tables and cleanup. Please follow this link to sign up to volunteer or reach out to capucineseadale@gmail.com with any questions. If you are unable to help out but would like to donate cookies, cupcakes, waters or juice, please sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0944A8A822A3FF2-56530837-2025
