December Community Service Project: We will be collecting new gloves/mittens, hats, and scarves for children and adults who do not have these items. We will be giving them to the East Bay Community Action Program which works with families in the east bay area. Information may be found here.
Square 1 Art: Don't forget to order keepsakes and gifts that feature your child's artwork! DEADLINE: 12/8/2025. Your child's custom catalog for the Square 1 Art fundraiser has been sent home in their take home folder. Look for the QR code on their custom catalog or use the online Art Search. Shop Online at square1art.com/shop. You can also upload additional art and make an order by using the online Art Upload. Thank you for supporting Sowams School!
Sowams Gear: Does your child wear the Octoberfest shirt every week? Need some more Sowams gear in your laundry rotation? The PTO is selling some swag! Shop the school store by December 3rd for delivery before winter break. Check the shirt colors for your class (Outdoor Day colors) or go rogue and get your own preference! Click here to shop.
PTO Meeting/School Construction Update: At our December 1, 2025, PTO meeting, Chris Spiegel, project manager, will be discussing the construction projects at Sowams School and across Barrington. The meeting, which is virtual, will take place at 7:00 PM. The link to this meeting will be sent out on the day of the meeting.
Picture Retakes: Picture retake day will be on December 3, 2025. Anyone who was absent on the original picture day and anyone who sends pictures back to school with your child will have a picture taken/retaken. If you did not order previously or if you need to order now, you may go to coffeepond.com to do this.

Third Grade Chorus Performance: Our Third Grade Chorus will perform for parents on December 18, 2025, at 1:45. The concert invitation may be found here.
Parent Teacher Conferences: As the first trimester is coming to a close, we will have parent conferences on December 8, 2025. Watch for sign up information from your child’s teacher. This is a no school day for K-5 students. Students in grades 6-12 do have school on this day.
