School On March 23, 2026: As a reminder, because of our latest snow storm, Barrington Public Schools will now have school on Monday, March 23, 2026.
Yearbook Boosters: Want to congratulate your child on a successful year? Want to thank a special adult at Sowams? The boosters are the way to do it! More information can be found here. Boosters cost $15 per message and are on sale now through April 3rd.

SurveyWorks Parents: Each year, the Rhode Island Department of Education asks various stakeholders in our school to take the SurveyWorks survey. Parents are asked to take about 15 minutes to complete this survey. The survey may be accessed here. See the email sent to you on Monday from me.
Sowams Speedway: With the nice weather coming up, Sowams Speedway is staring up again. We are looking for volunteers who have background checks on file with the district. If you would like to volunteer, you can sign up here.
Jump Rope for Heart: Our students, along with students at Nayatt and Primrose Hills schools, will be participating in the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge during their physical education classes this month. More information about this may be found here.
Progress Reports: The second trimester progress reports are scheduled to be released to parents on Friday, March 27, 2026. You will receive an email indicating that you can access them in Aspen. If you do not know your username and password, you should contact aspenhelp@barringtonschools.org. We do not have access to usernames and passwords at the school.
PTO/Arts Alive Play: If your second or third grader is staying for a Monday rehearsal, you need to send a note to the school letting us know your child is staying. If we do not receive a note, your child will be sent home their normal way.
Barrington High School After Prom: The largest fundraiser for the BHS After Prom for our high school seniors is now taking place. It’s an online auction. More information may be found here.
Third Grade State Assessment: Our third grades will be participating in the state assessment: RICAS. The ELA assessments will take place on April 7 and 8. The math assessments will take place on May 12 and 13.
