Backpack Express

Good morning,

Yes, I am a day late with this week’s Backpack Express but I wanted to make sure you had the most up-to-date information.

  • Sweetheart Dance:  The fun Sweetheart Dance is tomorrow night.  Today is the last day to register for this event.  Click here to register.  Click here to pay for the event.  The Dance runs 5:30 - 7:30 at the Barrington Middle School.  (See flyer for details.)

  • Town Meeting:  We have a Town Meeting on Monday afternoon.  Mrs. Wilson’s class is hosting it.  Other classes will present during our Meeting.  If your child’s class is presenting, your child’s teacher will let you know.  If you are picking your child up after Town Meeting, they will be dismissed at the end of the day.  If you do not normally pick your child up from school, you MUST send a note indicating you are doing this.  If we do not receive a note, your child will go home their normal way.  It is too busy for any last second changes.

  • Lost and Found:  We have a lot of items in our Lost and Found.  If you are coming to Town Meeting, please make sure you check it for any of your child’s items.  Also, a couple days next week, we will put it outside at dismissal for you to check it when you pick up your child.  At the end of the year, any left over clothing items are donated.

  • May Calendar:  The PTO has put together a May calendar for you.  You may access it here.

  • Third Grade RICAS:  On Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, our third graders will continue with the state assessment (RICAS) in the area of math.  Students will start testing at 8:30.  It is extremely important that third graders arrive at school on time.  Once the assessment begins, a child cannot enter the classroom until students have completed their assessment.

  • Hampden Meadows Tough Tiger:  The always fun Tough Tiger is taking place on May 17, 2026,  This is a fun, family event that takes place each year.  More information about this, including how to sign up, may be found here.

  • Kindergarten Registration:  Don’t forget, if you have a child turning five years old as of September 1, 2026, you can register your child for kindergarten.  All of the registration information may be found here.  Please share this information with your Barrington neighbors, too.

  • Save the Dates:
