Good afternoon,
Octoberfest is coming up. Here’s the latest information. Please make sure you read this entire email because we need your help to make this day successful.
We hope to see you all at Octoberfest on October 17th from 10am-3pm. The event will look a little different this year due to construction, but we will still have all of your favorite activities and games! Here is a map of the Octoberfest layout and this year's event poster.
Bake Sale: Love to bake?? Please consider donating cakes, baked goods, snacks, and drinks for the Octoberfest Café and Bake Walk (details below). Sign up to donate here.
Bake Walk - Always a crowd-pleaser! Each winner selects from a variety of whole cakes, cupcakes, and delicacies donated by people like you.
Café - Offers various items for purchase, including cookies, brownies, cake pops, muffins, snacks, water, juice, etc.
Silent Auction: The deadline to donate items to the silent auction is October 1st. And then the auction opens at midnight on October 3rd and stays open until 3pm on October 17th. You can get a preview of this year's auction items here: https://new.biddingowl.com/sowamsoctoberfest2026
Please email sowamsoctoberfest@gmail.com if you would like to donate or if you have any questions.
Volunteers: The magic of Octoberfest only happens thanks to the work of our amazing parent volunteers! Sign-up to help on the day of the event. Volunteers help us to run class games, prize tables, the bake sale, and more. Sign-up here.
Class Basket Raffle. Room parents are hard at work coordinating the class basket themes for this year's Octoberfest Raffle. Raffle tickets will be sent home with students later this week to sell to friends/family.
Mystery Bags. Mystery bags will also be going home later this week. You will receive a small paper bag and instructions. Please fill the bag with small new/unused toys (no food items or candy please) and return to the school by October 13th. The office will have extra bags if you really get into the spirit and want to make more than one bag.
If you have any questions about Octoberfest, you may email sowamsoctoberfest@gmail.com.
Best,
Jim Callahan
Principal
