Octoberfest is coming up in a week and a half on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 10:00-3:00. Below is information for you about the event and how you can help. Volunteers are extremely important on the day in order for the event to run smoothly. Please click the link below to sign up to volunteer.
Volunteers: The magic of Octoberfest only happens because of the amazing parent volunteers who bring this day to life. We ask that each family sign up to volunteer for 1 hour if possible. We still have many open slots throughout the day. Early riser? Join us for setup at 7:30am and you're back home by 9am! Busy with sports all morning? Help with class games in the afternoon! Grandparents and high school students are also welcome to volunteer! SIGN UP HERE.
Donate Baked Goods: Love to bake or shop?? Please consider donating cakes, baked goods, snacks, and drinks for the Octoberfest Café and Bake Walk (details below). Sign up to donate here.
Bake Walk - Always a crowd-pleaser! Each winner selects from a variety of whole cakes, cupcakes, and delicacies donated by people like you.
Café - Offers various items for purchase, including cookies, brownies, cake pops, muffins, snacks, water, juice, etc.
Silent Auction: The online auction is now live. We have some great items (a Ninja Creami soft serve ice cream maker, Six Flags tickets, etc.), Start bidding now: Visit the auction here.
Mystery Bags and Raffle Tickets: Mystery bags and raffle tickets went home in your kids' folders last week, please return to School by October 13th and 14th respectively. Let the office know if you'd like more tickets or want to fill extra Mystery Bags.
Fall / Halloween Decor to loan or donate: If you have an extra fall or Halloween decor to lend or give to the decorations team to help make Octoberfest spooky and autumney, please let us know. Please email sowamsoctoberfest@gmail.com if you would like to donate or if you have any questions.
Tents: If you have a pop-up tent to lend us for the day, this would help provide shade around the event since many of the trees that used to shade the various parts of Octoberfest are no more. Email sowamsoctoberfest@gmail.com if you have a tent to lend us on the day.
And finally, T-shirts! Octoberfest T-shirts will be sent home with kids mid-next week. Students should wear their shirts on Friday, October 16th for Fun Friday.
