Good afternoon,
This week’s Backpack Express is ready for your reading pleasure:
- Covid At-Home Test Kits: Several weeks ago, I sent out a notice regarding at-home Covid test kits so you may test your child before coming back to school after vacation. If you signed up for one, it was sent home today with your child. I do have some extras if anyone who did not request one would like a box (two tests per box). If you would like one, please email Mrs. Kotsiris (kotsirisc@barringtonschools.org) and we will send one home tomorrow (Thursday) with your child. This will be on a first come, first get basis.
- Vacation Week: Tomorrow is our last day of school until Monday, April 25, 2022. I hope everyone has a relaxing vacation.
- Yearbook: It is time to order a yearbook if you would like to purchase one for your child. The cost of the yearbook is $21. Information on ordering a yearbook may be found here. Yearbook orders will only be accepted online. All orders must be received by April 26, 2022.
- Boosters: Boosters are a way to put a message in the yearbook for your child or a member of the faculty/staff. Each booster costs $12, which may be paid by Venmo or a check made out to Sowams PTO. What’s a booster and how do you create one? Click here for more information. All boosters need to be received by April 26, 2022.
- Book Fair: Our PTO is sponsoring an additional book fair this year. This will be a “real” book fair and not just virtual like we had in the fall. The Book Fair will take place the week of May 16, 2022 with a family night on May 18, 2022 from 5:00-7:00. More information will be sent home as we get closer to the date.
- Sowams Garden: Looking for something to do during vacation? The Sowams Giving Garden needs your help. We need help with weeding and getting the soil ready for planting. More information on how you can help may be found here.
- PTO Meeting: The next PTO meeting will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022, at 7:00 in the evening. We are anticipating this will be an in-person meeting.
- Community Notice: Here is some information from the Town of Barrington Hazard Mitigation and Flood Management Plan.
