This week’s Backpack Express is ready for you.
Before the school information, I do want to thank all of our families for your support these past two weeks. The Sowams and Barrington communities have pulled together to support our faculty and staff. All that has been said or emailed or provided to us has been greatly appreciated.
Now, here’s the Backpack Express information:
Octoberfest: Although this year’s Octoberfest is being changed, I wanted to remind everyone that we will be moving forward with our class basket raffles and silent auction. For those of you who have sent in basket raffle tickets, we will hold on to them until the raffle is done. The PTO will provide dates of the raffles and silent auction. Stay tuned for more information on this.
Lunch For Sowams Faculty and Staff: The PTO has set up a sign up for a weekly luncheon for our faculty and staff. More information and the sign up may be found here. It does not need to be done by an individual but maybe by classroom. Also, the PTO has a Venmo account that family or community members may donate to for this cause.
Gift Cards for Faculty and Staff: The PTO has also been collecting gift cards for our faculty and staff for coffee, food, etc. If anyone would like to donate, you may drop off the gift card at the school.
School Pictures: Although our school pictures have not come in yet, we do have a make-up scheduled for December 2, 2022. This would be for anyone who missed our original picture day or wants retakes.
Great Apple Crunch: During lunch on October 19, our students will be able to sample various apple products from RI orchards. Thank you to Chartwells for doing this with our students.
Community Notices: There are quite a few upcoming events within Barrington to share with you: Farm School Fall Festival, Barrington Youth Basketball Association, Barrington Public Library, and Barrington High School’s Spooktacular Science.
